Dear members of the Marcellin Community,
The Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club held a General Members Meeting on Sunday 14 February, and we are pleased to advise that we have filled our committee positions that have been at large since the AGM held in November 2020
We are pleased to announce that the key positions of President and Treasurer have been filled, as well as two Golden Eagles representatives.
Based on this, the Office Bearer roles for 2021 are as follows
- President – David Howe
- Vice President – Chiara Morretta
- Treasurer – Joel Cunningham
- Secretary – Matthew Frost
- Golden Eagles Representatives – Matthew Getson and Bernie Crimmins
The club is blessed to have Joel, Bernie and Matt join the committee alongside Chiara, Matthew, and myself for the upcoming season, and we will be looking to bring additional support for our Committee in the coming weeks
I would like to thank the outgoing President Marcus Clayton and Treasurer Chris Mirabella for their tireless efforts over recent years. Your dedication, passion and drive to see this football club succeed has been incredible and we are thankful for all your effort and time that you have given to taking us from where we were to where we are.
To Chiara and Matthew, your work over the past 3 months since the AGM has not gone unnoticed. The pair of you have essentially kept the club going, and had you not been involved I fear what may have occurred. Your attention to detail as well as being able to provide a positive environment around the club has been amazing
The health and well-being of everyone was a major focus and, whilst we did not get a chance to play, I believe the coaches and support staff worked harder than ever to ensure there was constant connectivity with the playing group which bodes well for a strong 2021. The on-field connection between the respective coaches and players is going to be a massive focus for the upcoming season
Obviously every coach played a significant part, but a huge thankyou to Simon Abrahams and Luke Boyd for their many hours of work that was undertaken prior to and after Season 2020 was officially cancelled.
As we turn our attention to season 2021, there is much to do, and I will communicate again within the next few days the vision, the focus, our ideas and our actions for 2021 to ensure we continue to re-establish the Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club as a significant member of the VAFA community.
