Congratulations to Stephanie Bridge, Josh Atwell & Tess Menzies who will play in their 100th games this weekend!
Bridgey’s made it to 100 games! I’m so proud to be able to run out with you and play pure Bridgey style.
Bridgey has been at the club since 2018, and I’ve had the pleasure of playing with Bridgey since I came down to the club in 2022, and was lucky enough to have won the flag with her in 2023. She has become one of my closest friends and words will not do her justice, but I will try my best.
For those of you that don’t know, her name is actually Steph, but you will never hear anyone call her that. To us, she’s Bridgey, relentless and supportive on and off the field, and a bit of a silent assassin. She has this skill where she can get thrown into any position between centre half back, on the wing or into centre half forward, and still make it look like she’s always been there, absolutely giving it her all. There is nothing better than watching Bridge run from behind to spoil a mark or rip into a tackle.
Bridgey is a natural leader, she holds herself accountable and inspires her teammates to do the same, to step up and be their best self. She is one of the biggest supporters in the team, and has this aura that puts a pep into everyone’s step on game day, at trainings and especially at functions. You can always guarantee to hear her encouraging us through the good and the bad on the field.
Just so everyone can get a full understanding of her commitment to the club and the team, Bridgey actually broke her face during a game in 2025 (smashing her cheek against H’s head) on the day of the ball, and still rocked up to the ball looking fabulous as ever as if nothing had happened.
Bridgey is her harshest critic and has had her fair share of battles. She faces them head on and fights through them ferociously. With her chin up and head held high, she doesn’t let those moments define her or bring those around her down. Instead, she continues to show up for herself and her teammates, leading by example with resilience, determination and heart.
Bridgey, 100 games is an incredible achievement and one that is so well deserved. Thank you for everything you bring to the club, both as a footballer and a friend. We are so lucky to have you as a Sheag, congratulations.

A very big congratulations to our Bridgey on her incredible 100 game milestone.
We have shared a wonderful friendship for many years, beginning off the field in the fastfood factory. We also played junior football against one another for our opposing teams. At footy she was tall, strong and reliable. At work she was tall, strong and fantastic at making multilayered soft serve cones.
When it came time to transition into senior footy, I did my best to convince her to come to marcellin with me… and how lucky we all are that it worked!
Bridgey is a fantastic attacking half back, and can also lock down some of the competitions best forwards in a more key role. It’s even better when she moves into the forward line. She is still reliable, honest and will always get into the right positions. Despite footballing ability, our team is also so lucky to have someone so caring and passionate.
It’s been great growing together as people and players. Some of Steph’s best accolades include 2018 ressies premiership, 2019 rising star nomination, 2023 seniors premiership, and moving from a leadership position in 2025 to vice captain in 2026.
Good luck this weekend Bridgey! I’m so incredibly sad to be missing this achievement with you! Bonsoir from Paris!

From game 1 in the Under 19s to game 100 in the senior men’s team, congratulations on finally playing 100 games
From constant shoulder issues and a year away in Perth to coming back and playing some of the best football I’ve ever seen you play, it’s been great to play along side you again.
I honestly didn’t think you’d make it to 100 games because of the constant complaining about being sore, but your ability to keep pushing through shows just how much this club means to you.
Hopefully everyone gets around you this weekend, and the boys can celebrate the occasion with a big win against a tough opponent.
Congratulations on 100 games – here’s to many more.

Congratulations to Josh on playing his 100th game this weekend.
I have been lucky enough to play with josh since our first year of 19s in 2018 and been lucky enough to call him a good mate since high school.
Josh was a big reason for our success in our 19s year dominating in the ruck and helping us get to a Prelim final. The recognition came in our second year of 19s where Josh won the B&F after an outstanding year. Josh has fitted into the 1s side seemingly playing a variety of roles from back up ruck, to half back and now taking the spot as our number 1 ruck.
You know what you are going to get from Josh out on the field. He is someone who loves the contest and not afraid to put his head over the ball. He is someone you love to play with as he is always doing the team thing. It’s been a long time coming as Josh has had to deal for multiple injury setbacks over the years keeping the physio team on their toes and spending nearly half the warmup getting taped. But he continues to show up each week and play his role for the team.
Josh is a great clubman and exactly the kind of person you want around the footy club. He brings everyone together to build a better culture on and off the field. He is a people person and gets along with everyone at the club.
I know this milestone will mean a lot being able to run out with your brother who has been there for a lot of your journey at Marcellin. Trev will be there I am sure, hopefully just watching you dominating and not on timekeeper duties.
Well done on 100 games mate. It’s a huge achievement and I hope the boys can get the job done for you.

Congratulations, Tessie, on the incredible achievement of reaching 100 games.
For those who weren’t around for my 50-game speech, Tess decided to dive into the Swans archives and tell everyone about the players who had previously worn number 29. Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t return the favour because the Swans have never respected number 86 quite as much as Tess has.
Tess has proudly worn number 86 ever since she was handed the jumper in 2019. A couple of years later, when everyone had the chance to change their number, she was the only player with a high number who chose to keep it. It might seem like a small thing, but it says a lot about her loyalty and commitment to the team.
In all seriousness, though, Tess brings so much to this club. Her leadership, relentless running, accountability around the ground, and willingness to do the team things make her someone everyone can rely on. While most players are looking to kick the ball, Tess is usually on the hunt for someone to handball to. Whether you’re in the forward line or the back pocket, if you make eye contact with her, you can almost guarantee the ball is coming your way.
Reliability is probably the word that sums Tess up best. On the field, you can count on her to shut down an opponent and get right under their skin. You can count on her to handball instead of kick. You can count on her to become the unofficial extra umpire, never afraid to let the real ones know exactly what she thinks if they get a decision wrong. Most importantly, you can count on her to have your back, whether that’s helping you up off the ground or being the first one ready to stick up for you.
Over the years, Tess has collected plenty of nicknames in our family—T-Dog, T-Tiger and Chungy, just to name a few. My personal favourite is Chungy. It started during COVID when I’d be sitting comfortably on the couch while Tess begged me to do an at-home workout or join her for a casual 17-kilometre run. After enough of that, the only fitting nickname was Chungus, which eventually became Chungy.
So, Tess, congratulations on reaching 100 games. It’s an achievement you should be incredibly proud of and one that’s a reflection of everything you’ve given to this club and your teammates. I can’t wait to run out alongside my big sister on Saturday and celebrate such a well-deserved milestone.
