Milestone Games – Round 6 2026

Congratulations to Nicholas Watty, Adam Tomaro, Patrick Bourke, Patrick Lavery and Jennae Wakefield who will all be celebrating milestone games this weekend!

Nicholas Watty

Congratulations to Nick Watty on his upcoming 200th game for the Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club.

Playing 200 games of senior football, especially at one club, is an incredible achievement, and in doing so Nick will join a very short, yet elite list of players who have achieved this feat.

Nick started his senior career at the club in 2013, playing in the under 19’s straight after finishing school at the college the year prior.
Although an average year on the field for the team, Nick started to stamp himself as enigma around the club, due to some of his outrageous behaviours that would rear their head after a few beers at the harp on a Sunday night.

From 2014, through to 2022, Nick found himself a mainstay of the Reserves side, with the odd game in the Thirds here and there along the way as well.
Nick played in multiple finals campaigns throughout these years, all whilst barely showing his face in preseason, and always turning up right before Round 1 to cement his spot in the team.

By the time 2023 came around, Nick was the last man still playing at the club from our school graduating year of 2012, which no one would have picked 10 years prior, and in 2023, Nick made his Senior debut for the club at the astonishing age of 29.
Nick played 5 Senior games this season, and in 2024 and 2025, Nick slotted back into the Reserves side and has since continued on in 2026 where he finished off last year.

Nick has made a positive impact on the club over the last 13 years, not only through playing so any great games with consistency, but through his selfless nature, and friendly personality, which is loved by so many.

Congratulations again mate on your 200th game, you have outlasted all of us, and ought to be commended, and I look forward to watching you play your 200th this week, as well as many more seasons to come in the years ahead!

Go well!

Jeremiah Antypas

Congratulations to Nick Watty playing 200 games. It’s a fantastic achievement and now you are offically a life member of the club. I was fortunate enough to be alongside Nick for most of his career.

Nicks journey started way back in 2013 in the under 19’s he was fresh outta school and keen to explore the senior football life. Even though we finished last that year there were plenty of highlights, one of them was Nick experiencing his first Nest Ball.

The next season is where Nick really found his place. He made he debut in the reserves and was in his element. The likes of Liam brokus, stu kemp and Thomas black all took Nick under his wing and that’s where the fun began.

Fair to say Nick has been a consistent and reliable player down in the backline over all the teams he has played in. Unfortunately one thing that Nick has lacked though over the years is doing a Pre Season and when ever he has been questioned about it he always blames “Cricket Commitments”

All in all Nick is the perfect clubman he breathes Marcellin and loves the club, it’s a huge achievement to play 200 games and to receive life membership. All the best.

Adam Tomaro

This week we get to celebrate one of my best mates Adsy’s 100th game milestone. A huge achievement of dedication and commitment to the club. A big reason why i continue to be involved with the club is people like him. I haven’t met anyone who puts in more work on and off the field to try get the best out of himself and the team.

Our footy journey has run side by side for as long as i can remember (see photo below). From playing juniors against each other every year. Together in the odd league team. We eventually joined forces in year 7. And have played together ever since.

On field Adsy is one of the most fierce competitors i have ever come across. A leader who practices what he preaches. You’d definitely know if you’ve been on the end of a Tomaro spray.
A consistent, elite level of skill and toughness perfectly portrays him week in and week out. Highlighted individually by multiple Best and Fairest claims, along with multiple Team of the Year nominations.
I couldn’t think of many that would have played a better 99 games for the club so far.
Hopefully the boys can turn one on for one of the best to do it.

Congratulations on reaching 100 games for MOCFC, it’s a huge achievement for your football career and one this whole club is very proud you have achieved.

You’ve been a long servant of this club since coming out of high school and have put in so much time and effort to help drive the standards and support this club week in week out. You have always been the ultimate professional when it comes to training and game day preparation which clearly shows, given the consistent elite performances, a couple club best and fairest awards to your name and some time spent at VFL level earlier in your career. At the latter years of your career you’ve been a great role model to some of the younger talent that has come through, especially this year in 2026, where I have observed a bunch of the younger boys thriving off learning from you and training by your side.

It has been great to line up next to you in our senior games together and get a few wins, memories I’ll cherish during my time at MOCFC. Seeing you go to work by your side on game day, letting you win the hard ball whilst I hold on the outside, is special. A true warrior in the guts.

I know you’ve wanted that ultimate success of a premiership, but always know that you’ve contributed a massive amount to driving this club forward and have had a stellar 100 games and career to date for MOCFC.

Go well in game 100 my brother.

Anthony Radatti

Patrick Bourke

Patrick (Francis) Bourke’s 50 games. A splendid achievement by a magnificent man.

Had the pleasure of starting off our Marcellin careers together before he started taking the micky in the Reserves. First 2 years collecting plenty of best player votes from coach Blacky and quickly became a fave son.

Francis has moved into the Ones where he locked in a spot even though rumours are he wants to play 3rds at 9am. Congrats to Francis and here’s a song to sing on the win thanks to AI:

Forty-nine games in the Marcellin maroon,
Midfield maestro, he runs right through!

Chorus
Thirty best player! Pat’s the gun!
Eighteen goals and the hard yards won!
Tackles, spoils, heart of a lion,
Marcellin legend — keep it flyin’!

Isaac Bone

Patrick Lavery

Congratulations on the achievement of reaching 50 games at Marcellin. It has been an honour to play alongside you.
While these 50 games certainly haven’t been easy for you, battling an assortment of injuries over the years, you have finally made it.

Since joining the club together in 2021 Pat and I have played many games of football together across both under 19s and thirds teams. Pat is always an incredibly footballer, always putting his body on the line and getting the hard ball. While also being able using his incredible natural running ability to smoke a lot of the third opposition.

The way that I like to describe Pat is that he is an Ultimate utility in the thirds. He can play forward, back or wherever he is needed always having an impact on the game. You breath a sigh of relief when you see his magnet alongside yours on the whiteboard

Off the field Pat is an incredible friend in your corner. No matter what’s going on you can always count on Pat to pick up the phone, have a chat, or have a few cheeky Friday night beers.

Despite his unfortunate luck with injuries, Pat Lavery is a constant presence at the club, effortlessly connecting with everyone across the board, whether it be sheagles 1s 2s or 3s, everyone is mates with Pat.

Well done on this incredible milestone mate, I cannot wait to celebrate with you on Saturday and play another 50 games with you mate.

Jennae Wakefield

Jennae “Wizzy” Wakefield, the woman, the myth, the legend. When Wizzy first heard I joined the first preseason of the Sheagles, it was Christmas 2016. She laughed a lot at the name “Sheagles”. Tail between her legs a few weeks later, she asked me for the details to come down and join preseason training. The rest is history!

Wizzy is a club woman, loyal, dedicated, fierce, supportive and forever on your side. While she may have gotten in some altercations before with opponents, she would be more likely to be found stepping in to stick up for someone on her team. She’s been a player, coach, treasurer and committee member, she loves seeing Marcellin succeed.

She’s a good footballer, snags are her favourite but she’s has proven to be handy all around the ground when needed. When it comes to accolades, she’s had a few. Getting the taste for success in the 2017 season with a premiership, kept her coming back for more, chasing that high. She loves to encourage those around her to get the best out of them, she analyses the game to the nth degree. She used to pump me up on the way to a game and then give me a match report after the game, more glowing that I felt I played. She always wanted to keep me coming back for more with her.

Wizzy has never been shy of a sesh with the girls. I’ve gotten a lot of texts in the last almost 10 years, the morning after a night out with “I’m still making my way home, that is, I’m at Sue’s” (thanks Robbo fam for always having a spot for Wiz).

I could hang a bit on Wizzy, she used to come over to my place before training and put her dirty footy boots on the kitchen table, she used to do her uni work at training and pasta night, she used to make spreadsheets about games and selections but she’s grown now and she doesn’t do any of that anymore…or does she?

I’m always impressed by Wizzy, still just as obsessed with footy as she was as a kid, who loved juniors and school footy until she aged out. To be able to play and live out her dreams, what a delight!
Here’s to you Wizzy! 100 of the best.

Alright everyone, settle in — unlike Wiz’s attention span, this speech might actually last longer than 30 seconds.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone: 100 games for Wiz.

Now for those who don’t know Wiz — firstly, how? She’s usually the loudest person at the club. And secondly, the nickname “Wiz” obviously comes from “wizard,” which is fitting, because over the years she’s managed to magically avoid stretches, recovery, and occasionally accountability.

100 games. Three premierships. One fake calf injury. And always first on the physio table.

That’s right — while most players rehab injuries to get back onto the field, Wiz allegedly invented one so she could qualify to play in the first women’s game under lights. Which honestly is inspirational in a really morally questionable way.

And look, we have to acknowledge the elephant in the room. Wiz is the oldest player on the team. She turned 30 during COVID, so thankfully there are no official records and we can all just keep guessing from there.

But to be fair, Wiz has basically had a footy in her hands since she could walk. She grew up kicking the footy around, back when girls didn’t really have pathways into AFL, and she even played Under 10s with the boys because that was literally the only option back in her day. Which sounds dramatic, but genuinely, there wasn’t the same opportunity for girls that exists now.

So while we roast her for being ancient, she’s actually part of the generation that helped pave the way for women’s footy to become what it is today. Even if she does now need a full week to recover from a light training session.

Age hasn’t slowed her down though. Mostly because she refuses to pace herself in the first place.

She still attacks the footy with the same energy she attacks a kebab after midnight. And speaking of which — one of the great footy trip achievements of our generation: Byron Bay, where Wiz somehow survived almost exclusively on kebabs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Three meals a day. Just rotating garlic sauce levels like it was a nutritional strategy.

And despite all this, she’s somehow still an elite footballer. Three premierships says everything you need to know. When the game is on the line, Wiz stands up. Usually yelling something chaotic, occasionally at the umpire, sometimes at her own teammates — but she stands up.

One of my all-time core memories of Wiz is the 2018 grand final. She kicks a goal — huge moment. She then immediately turns to make absolutely sure the Fitzroy supporters knew about it. Not a subtle celebration either. Just pure passion, chaos, and “in-your-face” energy. Honestly one of the great demonstrations of passion we’ve ever seen.

She’s also the biggest Melbourne Demons supporter I’ve ever met. Which means she’s spent most of her life building resilience through emotional trauma. In many ways, barracking for Melbourne prepared her perfectly for local footy.

But underneath all the jokes, what really stands out about Wiz is how loyal and dedicated she is.

She’s the kind of person who always shows up for the club, for her teammates, and for the people around her. Whether it’s game day, training, helping out, supporting teammates, or just bringing energy when people need it most — she’s always there.

And this 100th game hasn’t just happened easily either. She’s had to overcome plenty of obstacles to get here, and that’s what makes this milestone even more special. A lot of people would’ve given up along the way, but Wiz kept turning up, kept pushing through, and kept doing what she’s always done — competing hard and backing her teammates.

That resilience is a huge part of who she is. And that’s exactly what Wiz has done. She’s been part of building this club and its culture. She’s helped bring success, she’s brought leadership, laughs, chaos, and probably several committee concerns — but mostly she’s been someone people genuinely love playing alongside.

You don’t fluke 100 games. You earn them.

So while we’ll continue to question her meal choices, her injury history, and whether she actually listens during team meetings, there’s no questioning what she means to this club.

Wiz — congratulations on 100 incredible games. Three flags, countless memories, and a massive impact on everyone at this club.

We’re all incredibly proud of you, and we’re lucky to have you.

Congrats mate.
