The Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club wishes to inform its members that Bernie Dinneen will not seek reappointment for the Senior Mens Head Coach role for the 2026 season.
Bernie notified the Committee today of his tough decision not to seek reappointment. Bernie and his wife Tiffany recently welcomed the birth of their third child, Maxwell. With this and several upcoming personal opportunities ahead of him, Bernie has advised the Committee it would become difficult to dedicate the time needed for a senior coaching role.
Bernie commented: “I would like to say a massive thank you to the Marcellin players, officials, supports and wider community for their support over the past two years. Being involved at my home club and the welcome my family has received has meant the world to me.”.
Chubba has been wholehearted in his efforts to improve and advance the club both on and off-field. He brought his trademark enthusiasm and energy to the role over the last two years, and worked tirelessly on recruitment, player development and the reinforcement of culture.
Over his history with the Eagles, Chubba’s accolades will be on the highest pedestal, setting new standards of playing excellence for the club In his playing days he was a three time VAFA League Best and Fairests (B Grade 1998, A Grade 2001 and 2002) and three time Premiership Player. He has continued his success in the Bald Eagles, where he won his tenth AFL Masters League Best and Fairest.
The Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club has been honoured to have Bernie as both a player and coach. Both him and Tiffany are a celebrated part of our community and we look forward to their ongoing support for years to come.
The club aims to announce the appointment of a new Senior Mens Head Coach in the near future.
