Milestone Games – Saturday 23 August 2025

Congratulations to Will McGregor and Liam Wyatt who will both play their 50th games this weekend in a Thirds Preliminary Final!

Will McGregor

Congratulations to Willmac for notching up 50 games for the Eagles this week. A great milestone for a staple piece of furniture among the 3’s footy ecosystem.

It’s been a great honor to share the footy field with Will for most of these 50 games and to be able to share the front lines with our team’s favorite lippy and witty player. A credit to him, Will’s rugby background translates beautifully into the way he plays his footy. A tough footy player that won’t ever take a backwards step to anything, often seen racking up more tackles than disposals with his pure gut running and ferocious attack on the opposition.

Will leads from the front, most commonly referenced in terms of his Beer Pong Champ Run or his birth of the 3’s fines committee, however corrupt he may have been. Will has been one of those people that have made the 3’s footy team a great place to be to play footy.

An always bright and enthusiastic person that we will rally behind for your 50th this weekend, and what a day it will be to celebrate you on such a momentous occasion. Go Eagles and go Will McGregor.

Liam Wyatt

Congratulations to Thirds stalwart Liam Wyatt who will play his 50th game for the Eagles this weekend!

Liam joined the Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club in 2023 after an incredible 11-year hiatus from footy. Despite the time away, he immediately slotted back into the game and has become a key figure in the Thirds side ever since.

From day one, Liam’s passion for the team and commitment to the club have been second to none. He’s barely missed a training session since pulling on the boots, even showing up in the darker times when there were only three or four on the track. That dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed, and it speaks volumes about the type of teammate and person he is.

On the field, Liam continues to grow with every game. He has become a composed and clean footballer with elite match awareness and a knack for being in the right place at the right time. His improvement over the past two seasons has been outstanding, and his performance in last weekend’s semi-final against Old Melburnians was a perfect example. In the third quarter, in a moment when it was looking like Old Melburnians were about to run away with the game, Liam stood tall, taking two strong contested marks and slotting two clutch goals in the space of 2 minutes. His ice-cold celebration was just as memorable as the goals themselves.

Liam is the ultimate team man, a genuine clubman, and someone we all love playing alongside. He’s become a great mate of mine and everyone who has played in the Thirds. It’s been a privilege to share the field with him. We can’t wait to see what he brings this weekend in his 50th, a must-win clash that could send us into a grand final.

All the best, mate. Go well!
