Milestone Games – Saturday 17 August 2024

Congratulations to Jed Harrowell and Luke Perrone on reaching the 50 game milestone this weekend!

Jed Harrowell

This weekend we celebrate the great milestone of 50 games for Jed (Tyler) Harrowell.

I’ve know Jedda since early days of year 7 at Marcellin College and 9 years later he’s still rocking the same haircut and same amount of facial hair. Playing under 19s with Jed it was clear to the eye that he was a tuff, head over the ball, gut runner and those traits lead him to have a secure spot within the senior team. Over the preseason it was clear he was finally taking he’s footy seriously with becoming a Strava warrior and he’s infatuating strict diet plan that consisted of custard and whatever was left over in the pantry.

Among the many years I’ve know little Jed, many stories have come from it and they truly reflect the fine young man he has become today. I could mention the countless times Jed got kicked out of the lovely harp for not being able to handle he’s piss, or the countless times he would crack the shits while slightly tipsy… still owe ollie a new pair of pants.

All in all congratulations of 50 games mate, you’ve been amazing bloke not only to me but many of your teammates over the years, I know you’ll go well. Fly the flag Jedda!

Luke Perrone

Congrats to Luke Perrone on reaching the 50 games milestone in which he has achieved more than most in such a short amount of time, having co captained the 19s one year with myself and another year on his own in which he lead the team to a 19s granny. Luke was also able to snag a BNF in that same year which speaks to the footballer that he has developed into (a very unique one).
Me and Luke first joined forces when we started in our first year out of school playing Marcellin 19s together and co captaining the team, in which we probably broke a club record for most coin tosses lost as I believe we won 1 of the 18 coin tosses for the year. I’m pretty sure Luke pointed the wrong way in the one game we won the toss.

Luckily for Luke his footy ability is quite a bit better than his ability to pick heads or tails. Luke’s first year of 19s was jam packed full of clearances he was the go to when we needed a momentum shift in the midfield as he’s more than able to get his own ball and get it forward with bloke flying off his hips from every angle. He also didn’t mind getting forward and kicking the odd floater goal, not sure I’ve actually seen him kick a drop punt yet.

It didn’t take long for the Senior team to realise the value of Luke as a footballer. He got his first senior start early in his second season and has managed to get a few games this year also in which he has improved with every game he’s played. He is also probably the biggest locker room presence in any team he plays in as I’m sure all boys would attest to.

As I’m sure I can speak for all the boys at the club Luke is a ripping bloke to have around the club as a footy player and a mate, never fails to get the whole team in stitches whether it’s laughing at or with him and continues to improve as a footy player and will no doubt be a Senior lock in the years to come.

Congratulations on the 50 games and I’m sure you won’t disappoint this week against Hampton.
