Women’s Coaching Announcement

We are sad to announce that Luke Boyd, Tim Money and Anthony Franklin will not be continuing in their roles as Women’s coaches for the 2023 season.

Luke has been involved with our women’s program for the entirety of its existence, initially as an assistant coach and has served as Senior Coach since 2019, where he has been instrumental in the consistent success and development for our womens program. In his first year Luke took the Seniors to the Premier finals and went a step further by getting them all the way to the Grand Final in 2021 before the season was ended prematurely. For his efforts he was named as the Premier Womens Coach for the VAFA Team of the Year in 2021. He will continue within the football program in an off-field capacity and will be heavily involved in selecting our next Senior coach.

Tim has been an assistant since the very beginning and has played a huge role in building the program since its inaugural 2017 premiership season. He has been a positive influence on all our players throughout his time in the womens program, helping to indoctrinate the players into the club whilst also recruiting some key players into it. His career with us stretches far back before his time with the women, and in 2021 (with Luke Boyd) he was awarded Life Membership for his efforts.

Tony joined us in 2021 as the Reserves Womens coach where he turned the team around to become a strong structured side in the Premier Reserves division. He helped develop this side from a tough 2019 to an undefeated powerhouse in 2021 and his ability to develop players has helped push many of them into Senior selection in 2022.

All three of these coaches enjoyed a historic 2021 where both the Seniors and Reserves teams were undefeated, capping the season off with a semi final win against St Kevins until a COVID lockdown stopped them from taking out the premiership.

We would like to thank all three of these individuals for their continuous dedication to our womens program, their time and effort put into building the program has been second to none and their contributions are much appreciated by all players, coaches and supporters.

The club will begin the process shortly of accepting applications for our Senior and Reserves Women’s roles, as well as for Assistant roles. We welcome anyone with an interest to contact us at admin@marcellinocfc.com.au
