The Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club is excited to announce the additions of Damien Yze (Senior Mens Assistant Coach) and Alan Hardy (Thirds Head Coach) to our coaching panel for the 2023 season.
Damien has had an extensive football career going back to his playing days in both VFL and local football, where he dominated forward lines with multiple 100+ goal seasons to his name. His experience on the field has helped to guide his coaching career, where he served in a Development role in the Box Hill Hawks program.
Damien will be working as a Development coach with a focus on the foward line group, helping to guide our strong young playing group as well as continue to strengthen our scoring attack of the likes of Lachy Rush and a returning Daniel McMahon.
We are very excited to welcome Damien and his family into the Marcellin community and we look forward to seeing him work cohesively with Head Coach Simon Abrahams as well as the rest of our coaching panel.
Al has been a fantastic member of the Marcellin community for the last 40+ years. His playing career saw him gain Life Membership after he racked up over 200 games on the field for the Eagles where he served as a player and, at some points, a coach throughout his time. He went on to continue his career with the Bald Eagles where he continues to volunteer and assist their operations to this day.
Al comes to us with great knowledge and experience and will be vital for our close knit Thirds group to develop. He will be assisted by James Barbuto who has put his hand up to help Al throughout the year, and we would like to thank Barbs for his continued support of the Thirds football program.
We would like to welcome Al to the role and we look forward to continuing to see our Thirds players down on the track as they look to bounce back and make 2023 their own.
Further to this the club is still searching for Under 19s Assistant Coaches to help Head Coach Matt Russell and his fantastic young playing group for 2023. If you are interested or want to learn how you can assist our 19s program contact Matt on 0417 985 333.
