The Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Simpson as our General Manager.
Peter is a former student of Marcellin College (1979) and past player of the club (1980-83). Peter will be a full time employee for our club, working with the committee, coaches, players and volunteers, striving to climb back up into the top echelon of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) in both Men’s and Women’s competitions.
Peter has a wealth of experience in sports administration. He was General Manager of successful VAFA Premier ‘A’ section clubs, Old Xaverians and Old Scotch during the last decade. Peter was the General Manager at Northcote Cricket Club in the Victoria Premier Cricket competition for a decade before that. Peter also had a successful business career for the Australian Government, in executive level roles in the Australian Tax Office and Services Australia.
We are excited to have Peter join us, bringing his extensive skills, capability and experience in football administration to our club. Peter’s reputation as one of the leading administrators in VAFA precedes him. Peter will work closely with all areas of the club to help us grow in the next few years.
Peter said “I am humbled to be coming back home to Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club and given the opportunity to help this great community club strive to become a VAFA power again. I call on all past players, families and friends to jump on board and support our committee, coaches led by Bernie Dinneen and Paul Harvey, and importantly the players in any way you can as we build now for the 2024 season and beyond.”
There will be further announcements about pre-season training, the AGM and other plans for 2024 soon.
Go Eagles!
